Crossover Rule

A rule in technical analysis stating that an investor in a particular financial instrument, such as a stock, takes a long position when the positive directional indicator (+DI) portion of the Directional Movement Index (DMI) crosses above the negative directional indicator (ĐDI) portion. A short position is initiated when the ĐDI crosses above the +DI.
