Is there any Sector Relative Strength Chart for Asia market?

In US, we have a lot of ETFs, indices, or chart services give us a better picture of a sector's relative strength.

Personally, I have some plays in Asia market, such as Hong Kong, Singapore, and China. But, there are less sector ETFs, indices, or chart services available for those market, maybe I didn't found them.

In order to get a clear view of the sector's movement in different markets, I was thinking is there a way I can create my own RS chart for the sectors in those Asia markets. Or anyone knows any website I can find such information?

Thanks

What are the best investment newsletters?

I'd be interested to hear which ones people have tried in the past, and which you still use today. What was each one's approach to investing? How long did you stick with it? Did you act upon their recommendations - always, never or did you try to cherry pick? Were the newsletters paid for or free? How useful have you found them to be?

I receive the free Tycoon Report newsletter which I’ve found has really taught me a lot about investing. For paid ones I’m signed up to Oxford Club, which is geared towards fairly conservative investors interested in long-term gains. I’m also on the ‘Changewave Alliance’, which surveys its subscribers in order to back up its research, giving a gauge for sentiment in various industries.

Both are good, but I’m not acting on any of their recommendations until I have been a subscriber for 1-2 years to give me time to judge their actual performance over time. Call me cautious but I'm sure there are a lot of crack-pot 'experts' out there!

There is an increased Global Planting in wheat, maize and other grains recently.

<a target="_NEW" href="http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20602013&sid=awxQ2Qg91wwc&refer=commodity_futures">http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20602013&sid=awxQ2Qg91wwc&refer=commodity_futures</a>

.
Feb. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Wheat fell, capping the biggest two- day loss since 2003, on speculation that farmers will increase planting to take advantage of prices that have doubled to a record in the past year

U.S. growers planted 3.6 percent more acres with winter wheat from September through November, the government said last month. Sowing of spring wheat also may increase, analysts said.

There's been a lot of wheat planted around the world'' after prices surged,

Wheat Falls as Increased Global Planting May Boost Inventories

Can we expect lower wheat and maize prices this year? I expect so.

Is it time to bottom fish or are we looking for lower prices still?

I don't want to be the guy trying to catch a falling knife. So I read this post yesterday on a blog I frequent:

<a target="_NEW" href="http://traderfeed.blogspot.com/2008/01/tracking-stock-market-weakness.html">http://traderfeed.blogspot.com/2008/01/tracking-stock-market-weakness.html</a>

and the author argues that even though we saw prices drop, they dropped on weak momentum which doesn't indicate we'll be seeing any kind of short term (or longer term) bounce. He insists we wait for lower prices.

Thoughts?

Time to buy retailers or financials?

A very strange day in the markets indeed! DOW down 464 at one point, now coming back somewhat, with retailers and financials leading the way! CHS, which I asked a question about insider buying awhile ago, is up 16% today! Home Depot is up 7%. WM and BAC also up big. Is this the real thing or just a dead cat bounce, and if so, how high can the dead kitty bounce?

Which tobacco company do you like (if any) and why?

Tobacco companies did very well during the last bear market, with RAI (then RJR) up 300% and MO up 240% over a 26 month period of time. This time around, which of the following companies seem the strongest: MO, RAI, or VGR, and why? RAI was the strongest of the three, and is actually up 1% over the last month, which is pretty darn good with the market being so bad. But are MO or VGR better companies?

Who makes the buy and sell decisions for ETF's?

We have heard a great deal over the years about various star money managers who run the mutual funds. People like Peter Lynch or John Templeton have been well documented, almost like stars, for their abilities to consistantly beat the S&P index over time. Some have even written books on beating the market.

Right now, mutual funds are being challanged by ETF's for a number of reasons, including ease of purchase, ability to get out of positions at any time of the day, ability to focus on a narrow area of the market, etc.

My question though is who is running the ship on these ETF's? Who is making the buy and sell decisions on a daily basis? How do we know how competent or incompetent they are? Track records are short, and individual sectors are subject to short term performance which is not necessarily indicative of the long term. So other than perhaps using technical analysis, how are we to know if the ETF we buy will serve us well?

Is this a good time to buy the new ETF, KOL?

KOL, the new ETF on the market following the coal sector seems like a good prospect. I've been following the steel and coal sector for a while and feel that it is one of the strongest sectors, relatively speaking. I've been waiting for the coal ETF to be released and now it's here. Aside from the problems in the general market that indicate that now is probably not a good time for bullish positions, do you think buying KOL in it's infancy is a good idea, or should I watch it for a while and see how it performs?
