My roomate bought 125 shares of MER last night as they were around $17 on Friday with a guaranteed jump to $29 when trading opens. Will these be filled? I was skeptical, but unsure.

LCTM failed in '98 with Assets/Equity of 3%, then Bear failed a decade later with Assets/Equity of 3%.

This ban on naked shorts for some is good, but there must be smaller companies who are affected by people shorting their stock in place of not being able to short the companies on the ban. Doesn't this hurt smaller banks?

With gas prices at an all time high, I have heard a seemingly good strategy for consumers to use to hedge their risk to sky-high prices if heavily reliant on the use of gasoline - they can long gasoline and avoid being hit so hard when prices skyrocket. Has anyone tried this and had any success with this tactic?
