how do you find an accountant that knows option trading law?
My cpa doesn't know anything about managing an option traders portfolio. He told me I had to have a license and should trade as a hobby. Any suggestions? Thanks
Robert

Hi Robert, I'm not sure what your CPA means but you don't need a license to trade options. But if you mean you'd like your CPA to "manage" your portfolio for you, then yes, he'd need a license. You're better off going to a full service broker for that type of stuff though - if you already work with someone ask them who their accountant is, they'll definitely be able to recommend somebody good.
