I think it'll be great! China's growth trajectory is still right on track to continue posting double digit GDP growth rates, not to mention the Olympics are coming to town this August...the "consumer" part of your question is a bit broad, you could re-ask based on a more specific sector (because I do see certain markets growing quicker than others). It is very difficult to forecast. Some expect china consumer confidence index (CCCI) to be volatile in 2008 and expect right before the Olympic to have more demand for consumer products. However we can’t exactly get idea about this sector due to present Market volatility. My other concern is if world growth become slow then there will be less demand for consumer goods as well
