I guess the answer is how much can you afford to buy, and how much are you willing to loose?

I personally would just buy and index fund or ETF. These vehicles have managers who collect the best companies of a market not all the companies in the market. They have the information and knowledge of the surrounding situation in Vietnam. If you are truly knowledgeable on the subject then maybe you should try and buy some quality companies without buying all the bad ones as well.

If your looking to take advantage of a bull market, you should invest in the strongest stocks in the strongest sectors of the vietnamese market. If you do not know which sector is the strongest, just do a little research on the bpi's (bullish percent index) of different sectors over the last few years. If you have knowledge of the sector then just choose the best stocks obviously. If you are lacking specific knowledge, find the best sector and buy an ETF like John said.

No. Still it is better to if you concentrate on fundamentals. If you know market very well you must invest in companies with strong management, strong balance sheet, rising profit, less competition, higher demand for their products and service and higher return of equity.

As John mentioned, it is better to buy Index fund or ETF if you don’t know market very well in a bullish market.
