About Pattern Recognition software
Can anyone recommend any software that is particularly reliable in identifying technical patterns in stock charts? for any such recommendation, would you mind letting me know how that software identifies the pattern (e.g., does it just highlight the pattern on the chart or does it also provide any descriptive text about what has been identified).

There are a number of commercial charting subscriptions that claim success:
"VectorVest" is one and you can investigate it at : www.vectorvest.com
Another is "Gorilla Trades" www.gorillatrades.com
BUT, I don't use these, and I don't intend to, because I don't want to be tied to the computer.

I've used something called Forex Killer, and I've found it pretty reliable.
(Don't worry about the forex bit - it can be applied to any data stream, including stocks).
I write about it here - http://tinyurl.com/2reqec
Or you can go get it for a hundred bucks here - http://tinyurl.com/3c8wm2
