Are elections good, bad or neutral to the economy?

Super Tuesday just past and we're seeing a nice race with the Democrats. Is there a short term impact on the economy during an election year?

You can look up in the stock traders almanac how the market performs in Election years and its usually pretty good. But this year maybe different. If a Democrat is elected you can be sure their will be higher taxes, increased government spending on health care, less military spending, and increased tax penalties against hedge funds and mutual funds (which mean more expenses for you the fund owner), and more tax penalties for the business community as a whole. All of this will be negative for our economy.

Just make sure you get out their and vote Republican. 2009 Democrats are anti-business, pro taxes!.

They say they want to raise the taxes paid by fund managers. But who do you think will pay that? You think the fund managers are going to get paid less or they are going to stick us with higher premiums and the like.

You no the routine take from the people that work the hardest and give to the people who work the least!. If I did nothing I would vote democratic as well.

Please show me one time in history when higher taxes were good for our economy. And please i beg someone to show me when increased social programs (well-fair) has been good for our economy.

And also everyone complains about health care. Well heres a suggestion all the fat people need diets. Obesity is the single largest expense on our health care system. So fat people are reason health care costs so much. Im sorry but its true. Everyone wants the government to solve their problems. How about eating less and exercising?

“Everyone wants the government to solve their problems. How about eating less and exercising.” Johns this is very good point.

Some people are very lazy. They only want to get from society without contributing to the society. We must not forget that we are part of this global world. We are getting services from all type of professions.

In the meantime if we have to pay taxes we must pay. If we have any refund taxes we must get it.

Generally I think elections are bad for economy. We spend quite lot of money and time for elections though out the world. In some countries they always want elections. No body is bothering to develop economy.

There will some support for market once elections is over and when new president come to the power. Then we have to wait and see their economic policy and implementation. Accordingly we can take our investment decisions.
