If Sirius and XM get approval from the FCC is it time to buy ?

I am considering taking a position now that the merger seems probable. I am concerned about the problem of debt of both companies & how much time will pass until they start to show a profit. Your opinions please.

Tough call - I think somebody else asked this the other day and said that it makes sense to by Sirius with or without the merger. I tend to agree just due to the company's superior economics, however I think the one thing everybody is overlooking is what the "Apple effect" will be on this industry.

Think about it - iPod docks come in most cars now, iPods are outselling satellite radios by orders of magnitude and with the proliferation of pod casting, the "talk show/news" aspect of radio is rapidly becoming commoditized.

I'm personally staying away from everybody in this space except Apple - I haven't seen anything as disruptive as the iPod in digital music.

Besides the music, I enjoy listening to the various news and sports talk stations that are available on satellite radio, CNBC and the like -- I'd like to see how Apple can replicate that?
