I guess I am just a bull at heart, but I am inclined to think the markets are oversold and that stocks are priced reasonably after the correction we have already seen. Personally, I am looking for Value Stocks that meet these criteria. Even the financials are beginning to look attractive again as a longer term investment. I do think the upward trend will take some time(12-18 months) and be anything but a smooth ride, but at the same time I don't see the market tanking much further over the period unless more and unexpected failures occur in the current mortgage and liquidity crisis. Just one guy's opinion.

Haha good one Jake! I agree, take a wait and see approach, we're still in a pretty weak economy, I'm not ready to jump back in head first yet.

I do not think that we will get strong long term market revival at this juncture. There will be lot of volatility in the market time to come.
Recently Tycoon report published a report saying there is always bull market somewhere. I completely agree with it. If you do little bit of research through out the world you can get excellent return even in this volatile period in all type of markets such as Stocks, Commodity and Currency. We now get complex short term traders in every market. If you can identify trend we can make profit in this type of market. Currently there are some acquisitions taken place over the world when they see good bargain.
However, it is always better to invest in quality stocks under current market situation.
Because we are in final stage of current bull market and we can also be safe. We must avoid all hot investments now. It is time to deposed over priced assets and invest in undervalued stocks with long-term growth and potential.

Its got to get considerably worse before it can get better. There's just anxiety but not enough real fear yet. When a major bank, like Washington Mutual or CitiBank declares insolvency, then the worse may be over. Another sign: housing prices need to decrease another 20% before the asset bubble is finally burst.
