What's going on with EarthLink and United Online?
They're trying to jump through all these hoops but it doesn't seem like anything is working. Are these guys going to survive or are they just going to fade into oblivion? Good short here?

Earthlink's decline is due to poor customer service, high prices and a lack of competitive sense. As a former, long time subscriber, I suffered through downtimes, modems that did not last more than 4-6 months, and bills that were $15/month higher than my current ISP. I switched from slow speed broadband at $39.95/mon to 6 times the broadband speed for $24.95/month. In addition I got a wirelss router that is humming along like a clock vs. the Earthlink supplied modems with a short life span. Is it any wonder they are heading towards the door?
