THound member Lobo recently suggested PBW as a combined solar/wind play. It's an ETF. I thought that sounded pretty good.
I have a small holding in the Japanese company Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. I own the Japanese
listed shares but it is listed in the US and the code is MVHYF. I do not know much about the US
listed shares but they look to be quite inactively traded. I also paid less than current prices.

Hopefully more suggestions for you will come along shortly.

There have been some recent postings about companies (not just utilities) that produce parts, towers, blades and mtering/controls for wind power at
http://seekingalpha.com
and type
WIND
in the search bar at the top, right portion of the web page.
Please realize that wind power generation is a tiny portion of most utilities' efforts. I own a couple of securities/funds, and some names that come to mind are XEL (Excel), and FPL (Fla. Power & Light).
