Service providers like Sprint. They will take a nice chunk off the top just like any other service that they provide. Consumer electronics producers such as Nokia, Siemens and Motorola are already releasing electronics with WiMax built in. The end users have to get services from somewhere right?

Due to the huge initial investment on the part of the service providers and the equipment providers, it will be a long time (years) before anyone actually makes money on Wimax or LTE for that matter. Clearwire has been hemmorging losses for several years now and Sprint and Motorola have been dumping billions into this new technology. Competition will be fierce once AT&T and Verizon come out with their own offerings. So at this point, I wouldn't invest in any company based on their prospects of making money in these technologies.
