Although I have never subscribed, I have been receiving newsletter solicitations from Mr. Hsu for quite awhile. When the China stock market was doing great, everything that he recommended seemed to go up quite a bit. However, since the market has been in correction, I am not so sure if he has done as well. One thing I can say in his favor is that he does actually go to China to scout out the companies.

I have been a subscriber to Robert's China Strategy newsletter for more than a year and I think he is an indispensable source of information on China. Here you have a former Goldman Sachs money manager born in Taiwan, who understands the culture, language and people of China. He also has a network of local contacts in China providing information to him. While it's certainly true that his recommendations haven't done as well since the Chinese market tanked, I suppose that when the market goes back up, his recommendations will do better. This is not exactly a profound insight. Robert anticipated the turndown and recommended that investors greatly increase their cash holdings and wait for an opportunity to buy back in - there really is no one else with a similar resume providing newsletter advice on China right now. I would recommend signing up if you are really serious about investing in China yourself.

I signed up with Robert back in November of 2005. I agree with everything Tlune just said about Robert.
He comes across as a hardworking, sincere person who is trying to help you make money.
He is a stock picker and a good one. He also tells you when to take profits and when to enter a position. Here are a few examples from his newsletter in Jan 2005.
Buy AAPL, CEO, CHL, BHP, RTP
They give some insight into his thinking.. Three years ago he was buying not only Chinese stocks but those companies that would make the most on the industrialization of China.
He is NOT one of those guys that just sell hype and dreams
NOTE: These recommendations are 3 years old and just for illustration!!!!.

Yes, I had been his subscriber in from April 2007 to March 2008. His recommendations have all been good. I have discontinued now, since the India story is more exciting for me.
You can go ahead subscribe to Robert Hsu.
He is Quite a hands on guy .

I have been a subscriber since the Money Show in Orlando in '07. I signed up for two years because I was impressed with his talks I attended at the show. I also like to observe how a newsletter adviser's advice performs before investing my money in their selections.
The things the others said above is true in my obersevations, especially "tlune's". After the market bottom in March he reccomended putting some cash back in the market. About that time I decided to invest back some of my cash because there were a lot of bargins out there and the sectors were strengthening on Investors Intelligence's website. I bought two of his recomendations. They dropped a little in the pullback but since have turned around and are gaining lately as the sectors continue to strengthen.
I will probably renew again next year, because I like his style. Thanks zorahuck
