CBS acquires CNET - stupid move?
This doesn't seem like the best use of $1.8 billion - am I missing something?

It makes sense for a few reasons. Old media buys new media but this one might actually work out. How's myspace & rupert murdoch doing?
I heard this blurb this morning on Buzz Out Loud (CNET podcast of indeterminate length). "Marketwatch, freeFm, and now CNET. They (CBS) seem to understand web properties and they want a web presence. CNET is a top 10 global web property. Now that CBS acquires it they have a better position and have also become a top 10 global web property."
