Analysts are like sheep, so when one upgrades a stock, there may be more to follow. That is one reason they are important. An upgrade by a noted analyst will usually result in a short term lift for a stock price. Be careful not to chase an extended stock because of this. Better to wait for it to pull back. The same is true in reverse for downgrades. They are poison to the stock short term, but provide nice entry points for bottom fisherman.

Not much, particulary when one analyst is upgrading and another is downgrading at the same time. I don't have much faith in analyst's ratings. Gay
