Where can I find charts for options?

Can you apply the charting patterns / technical analysis to options?

If you want to pull up a chart for an option you need to use its OPRA. Every option will have an OPRA. It's similar to a ticker for a stock. An OPRA is assigned to each type of option. For example, if you wanted to buy a Walmart option with an July expiration you could say "buy WMT 100 JUL 08 52.5 CALL @5.25 LMT" or you could say "Buy option WMTGX @5.25 LMT". The OPRA WMTGX represents WMT 100 JUL 08 52.5 CALL.

To view the OPRA on a chart try placing a period before the OPRA in the ticker box. An example for the Walmart option would be (.WMTGX). It may differ with your broker's software, if so just ask them how to pull up an OPRA on a chart.

You can run technical analysis on anything that can be pulled up on a chart. I've never used technical analysis on option charts, but my trading style shouldn't affect yours.

The only places i've been able to find charts is on broker software, and www.investools.com (and you have to pay for the latter). Other then that, Stocktraderdan has it right on.
