Yes I watch that show. I just started on my road to Financial Freedom so I am slowly Learning more about stocks. With the strong points that he makes it seems as if he knows a lot about what he's talking about.

I would be careful following someone who has a ratio of profits/losses in the 63% range (this figure is from a foggy place in my brain and I don't remember which newsletter posted it), especially since many of the positions are held without an apparent stop loss. I don't watch the show because I don't care for his antics (saw it a long time ago). I don't have the time.

I used to watch Cramer more than I do now. I think he is extremely knowledgable, but you have to remember that he needs to be entertaining to attract viewers, and to differentiate himself from a zillion other stock pickers. So I don't hold his antics against him, and in fact he often makes me laugh.

As for his win-loss record, when you have to make as many picks as he does, your batting average is definitely going to suffer some. So the best way to play Cramer is to write down everything he likes, then go and do your own research (exactly what he says you should do), and narrow his picks down to meet whatever criteria that you employ (fundamental, technical, etc). I think that should improve your winning percentage above his. The other thing is never buy a stock he recommends the day after the show airs, because then you will be chasing the price. Everything he touts gets bid way up, starting in the after hours following his show. Wait for a pull back and if you don't get it, just go to another stock.

I watch the show fairly regularly although I enjoyed his old radio show more. As far as his picks , I surely wouldn't buy just because he mentionrd it',no more than I would any other any other persons picks. First do your own homework to see if it fits your own investing style or plan. Remembeer that the decision to buy or sell is yours and yours alone. I have watched some stocks he is touting going up as he speaks in the after hours market "CRAZINESS'.

He is a showman and one should do their own analysis. In his defense, I followed a couple of his suggestions last fall and made 30% on one after 6 months and 400% on another one in just 9 months. But give his recommendations 5 to 21 days after his mention to buy. The price really goes up for a week or so and then takes a dive for a week or so while the early folks sell for a quick small profit. His reasons for buying are always interesting and as a newbie to investing, I have had my interest in some aspects of investing piqued enough to cause me to learn more about what he mentions.

No, I do not watch Cramer. In general, you need to avoid the popular picks as they often induce you to buy at a high point and then the stocks take a dive as the publicity wears off.
