Honda Motors - What do you think?

Lots of small gas efficient cars in their line, even that hydrogen one. Good for long term?

I like Honda for the long term, I recall reading that their R&D budget has traditionally been higher than a lot of their competition. It probably wouldn't be too hard to locate the hard data on that sort of thing if you're interested.

As for the gap ups, I'd be interested to see if it's related to news about their hydrogen developments? Just a guess; the alt fuel story is something I've been keeping a close eye on for a while - so from my perspective they're probably related.

One thing that impresses me about HMC is their recent resilliency, as opposd to what we have seen from Ford and GM. I agree with your assessment about their small, gas efficient cars boding well for them down the road. The stock has recently pulled back to the 50 day moving aveage. If it begins to fall below that level, I would not be a buyer right now. If it holds and begins to move up, then I think it becomes a good play. What intrigues me about their chart is the large number of gap ups over the past several months. Anyone here know what's up with that?

I do not think there will be meaningful recovery in the car and airline sector in next 12 months. We must completely avoid these sectors now. Car sales are falling almost all over the world now. Some car owners have kept their cars in their garages and they are traveling by scooters now. Surprisingly in one small developed country Toyota small car sales have increased over others during last quarter.

Some Intelligent investors have identified sectors and stocks which are going to recover before other sectors .Even they expect reasonable return in a depressed market conditions through out the world.

Once we see strong correction in the oil market then we should invest in car sector and airline sector.
