It means that when the shareholders get together to vote for a new board of directors at the next meeting, yahoo! is fighting back against Ichan to keep the company's current board in place. Carl would love to boot Yang and the rest of the Yahoo! board off the campus come next meeting, but that's going to be a difficult feat to accomplish. I like that Yahoo! is reaching out to their own loyal userbase (and potentially shareholders) to keep the board in tact.
