WHAT CAN HE DO
SOMEONE IN THE FAMILY BOUGHT STOCK'S IN MY HUSBAND NAME AND S S I #.
HE DON'T KNOW WHO.MOST OF HIS FAMILY IS DEAD.HE THINKS IT WAS HIS STEPFATHER BUT NOT SURE.THE COMPANY THAT THEY ARE AT SAID THEY WILL NOT LET HIM HAVE THEM CAUSE HE DONT KNOW THE PEN AND PASS WORD.WE TRYED TO EXPLAIN TO THEM WHAT HAD HAPPENED BUT THEY STILL WOULD NOT HELP HIM.HE WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THEM OUT AND REINVEST THEM,IS THERE ANYTHING HE CAN DO.WE WOULD LIKE TO REINVEST THEM AND LEAVE THEM TO OUR GRAND CHILDREN.

Go to your bank for help. If they cannot help you directly, I am sure they'll refer you to the right place.

Go to a physical branch of the brokerage. When you get there explain that the account number, PIN and password were lost and you need to get access to the account. Bring every picture ID in his name you have available(Drivers license, passport, etc), his social security card, birth certificate and any other idenification available. You will probably be asked to fill out a few forms, show some of the documents listed above, and possibly wait(a few days) while they try to use the contact information associated with the account. If you explain you want to actively invest the shares they will be more cooperative because each transaction will generate income for them. If anyone will not cooperate just ask for their manager, the first person or 3 will not be able to help you(they are glorified cashiers in most cases) but you will be able to get to someone who can. Just be firm, patient and try to highlight how access to the account will help them.
