Can you buy options without a broker?

No. You have to have a trading account with a company that will allow you to trade options. You can do this on the internet and never talk to a broker. I would suggest Interacitive Brokers or OptionsExpress.

You can use online brokerages. I use Ameritrade to trade options. You have to sign an extra form for options and margins in order to start trading options.

rvilmur misspelled "OptionsExpress", it is spelled OptionsXpress. There is no E before the X. And their fees are a little high. I use TradeKing. They charge $4.95 per trade. https://www.tradeking.com/
