I "was" a Forex freak. I used to follow the Jobs Jamboree with missionary zeal. Then something happened. Katrina. Hundreds of thousands jobs were lost within hours - if not minutes. But Bush's Labor Machinery continued to give out "rosy" labor data for weeks and months. Their reason for ignoring Katrina jobloss:"We can include that data only if people come to us and tell that they are jobless." And people, especially Forex ones, traded based on that "Katrina didn't happen" data. So, at least until Bush goes, I won't be touching that data. No, it is not politics. It has something to do with "honest" economics. It had a beneficial effect too - I got rid of my "Forex" addiction!
