Thoughts on Amazon.com?
Given that we're headed into a downturn, would online retailers (where goods are cheaper) tend to do better than offline?

The basic thesis makes sense - people looking for cheaper alternatives when times are tight - but I think it's going to be more geared towards consumer staple goods (food, etc.). Since Amazon isn't drop shipping chicken and lettuce, I don't see them benefiting the same way offline, discount retailers will.
