They say that on average, markets are down 1.1% in September across the board and is considered the worst month of the year. This used to be due to the farm harvest when money moved out of city banks into country banks.
-However in five out of the last ten years, the stocks have moved up and in September and in four straight Septembers.
-Ten of the last twenty years the market moved up in September.
-Since 1967 stocks moved down only 55% of the time.

Generally, month of September is bad for the market. However, market was good in September during last 03 years

Some fund mangers adjust their portfolios during September to get advantage in the future. Some are selling their losing positions in mid September to mid October.

This September is likely to be particularly volatile on Wall Street. Particularly there will be demand for neglected and hidden gems with future earnings changes in the 3d and 4th quarter and beyond.

Month of September is very good for some small stocks markets through out the world. I have noticed some foreign funds mangers invest heavily from end of August onwards in these small markets to take above average returns in the short term, medium term and long term.

September is going to be very bad month for commodity market. Some commodity price s will come down badly surprise to many. Some commodity prices are expected to crash in September-October period in India. Mainly they expect crash in Rubber, Palm oil, Soya oil and grain not only in India but also in counties like Malaysia, Singapore and Japan.

In addition, Commodity currencies will come down against other currencies such as USD

I continue to lean toward the bearish camp and this leaning will become more pronounced as we head into September, which historically is not a good month for stocks.
