What's the average daily volume for shares traded?
With two days in a row returning the lowest volume of the year, what's the average volume for comparison's sake?

Month over month, the average volume on the NYSE in July was 1.54 billion shares for 21 days of trading excluding the half day for July 3, which traded just 720 million
shares.
The summer months are usually slower, and this week the volume has
been very low -- less than 1 billion. From January to June, average daily
volume is around 1.7 billion shares but has been as high as 3 billion.
