Is there a service that provides both sector charts and a list of stocks within each sector?

I have found Bar Stocks which provides sectors along with the stocks, but they do not have sector charts. Then there is Incredible Charts for sectors, but the do not provide stocks within the sectors and the 2 programs do not correlate well with each others` sectors.

Your online broker's website should provide the info you're looking for. If it doesn't I would change brokers.

To pull up a chart on sectors locate a mutual fund or ETF that is sector specific to the sector you are interested in. Then enter the symbol for that particular mutual fund or ETF (where you would enter the symbol for a stock) on a stock chart. This will pull up a chart for that specific mutual fund or ETF sector. To find the stock list look for a link that will say something like DETAILS or OVERVIEW. On that page there should be a list of stocks for that symbol. It may only be the top holdings. But within that area there may be a link that will expand the list, which should give you a complete list of stock holdings.

I personally like ETF's. Specifically, ProShares. They have a short list of the major sectors. And their Ultra series objective is to double whatever the underlying DOW sector is doing. If you want a larger selection try iShares or Powershares. All three of these are excellent management firms.

dale, i subscribe to a charting program called 'extreme charts'. it is a daily charting program with every feature you could imagine, plus all of the indices, sectors, fundamentals and very customizable to suit your preferences. very reasonably priced at 50bucks a month. i do not like to make trading/investment decisions without it. it will take some time to learn all the tricks to it but i am in it for the long haul. i am sure there are other programs out there but i haven't found them. some of them probably even free, but ultimately you get what you pay for. my online brokerage firms charts are excellant for intra- day but for my studies a daily charting program is indispensable.

I like DirtyD's link. You can also use http://stockcharts.com/charts/performance/perf.html?
to compare the performance over different time parameters on up to 10 symbols at once. I find it easiest to use the histogram chart, rather than the line chart when comparing multi companies.

Check out Prophet.net and click on the explore tab, then the industry ranking tab..it will take you to a list of the top sectors...click the chart icon on the right hand side and it will bring up charts of stocks in that sector..also on the same page, upper right corner is a chart of the sector.
