I think the only thing affecting the market's trend these days is the financial services space. So the government announcing a multi-hundred billion dollar bailout is probably the only thing causing the market to move today.

It sucks when one sector -- regardless of how influential -- tends to impact all others. Kind of like the inverse of the tech crash in 2000.
