Is there a way to still trade stocks even when the market is closed - some type of electronic exchange?

Type in the words "after-hours trading" in the search box on the Tickerhound website. Click on the Dictionary link in the drop down box. Click on Search. After reading the diffiinition, click on "ECNs" within the diffiinition. After reading that diffiinition if your still interested contact your broker and see if they offer after-hours trading. If not, contact other brokers to find out which ones will.

No electronic exchanges to trade after trading hours but informal trading can be done but needs to be shown in the next trading day record.

Depends on when you want to trade. There won't be possibilities on Sundays, I think, but if the market is closed because of some national holiday (like the recent Labor Day), of course you can continue trading on many exchanges outside your home country.
