We just reported on OptionsZone.com about unusual trading in Timberland (TBL) that seems to indicate some brewing M&A activity.

Rumors are circulating that Nike (NKE) might be interested in taking Timberland out.

Supporting this, on Wednesday, option trading in Timberland surpassed 20 times its usual volume. Market makers bought the TBL Sept 20 Calls (TBLID) 3,000 times.

The stock has moved $2 and looks great on the charts, and the Sept 20 Calls traded at 10 cents in Wednesday's early market and spiked by 35 cents at the close.
