Will I see the credit crunch affect with my student loans?

Yes and no. The government sponsored loans won't give you any more trouble than they already do. But if you need to tap into private sector loans, then you might start having problems.

A friend of mine has a son attending college next fall and they've already been looking into various private loans to help out with various expenses. He ended up having to get another relative to be the co-signer on the loan (he has pretty good credit too) in order to qualify.

Luckily state schools have fairly low tuitions and financial aid packages - I don't think this will lead to a massive drop-off in college enrollment or anything. But it will certainly make it harder to a middle-income family to send their child to a top-tier school.
