Buffett puts stocks in his personal account for this first time - should we be buying like crazy too?

I don't think Buffett is buying "like crazy"; he doesn't make any financial decisions "like crazy". That said, to be buying now, you need at least two of the following three characteristics, IMHO: being a patient, long-term investor; knowing when it's a bargain and when a distress sale; and lots of resources and the clout to make deals as Buffett does. HOwever, he also says "be greedy when others are fearful", so if I should probably add courage (or timely greed?) to my list.

Some of the investment newsletters are touting BUY BUY BUY and others are claiming the DOW will test the 2002 lows at 7000. I had cash and bought in a couple of weeks ago thinking we'd hit the low only to be sadly disappointed. If I had more cash at the moment, I would be investing again now. This is similar to dollar cost averaging. Buy good quality and what you know or listen to the investment letters you seem to have good results with (not necessarily what they claim to be making since alot of them paper trade) and DON'T spend all your cash (like I mistakenly did) just in case things go lower and you can buy more then.
I will not dump my positions because I am invested for long term and long term ultimately will gain.

I think SallyG correct.
Intelligent investors know how to invest in any type of market.
Now some investors and traders through out the world. are in panic mood due to fea.
We have plenty of opportunities to invest in all types of markets such as developed market such USA, emerging markets and frontier markets. Global investors will have advantage in selecting sectors, stocks and countries.
In the USA companies such as General Mills, Kraft will outperform market in the next 02 years. Similarly, there are quality stocks in other markets as well.
In short this is the time to invest in neglected and next rotating sectors through out the world.
Some top investors believe strong rebound in the world markets sooner than later. I also think so now.

I have read that Buffett gets his 'special preferred stock ' at a discount with nice dividends and incentive discounts to buy more because of his ability to buy bulk. Buffett also has the financial ability to hold during serious drawdowns. Unfortunately I am not in a position to buy stock at a discount or to hold through recessions. However I pay close attention to what he is buying and I agree, we will soon be embarking on a 'once in a decade' buying opportunity. Hopefully sooner than later.
