I like Dollar Tree (DLTR) and Wal Mart (WMT) the best. DLTR is by far the best of the dollar stores, and WMT needs no introduction from me.

Consumer spending is going to be a tricky sector in which to be long, but because many retailers are at technical support levels and/or at 52-week lows, some value guys and traders have come in, though they will leave soon enough.
Many retailers are near a cliff, but having said that, the two best performers on the S&P 500 (SPX) this year were Big Lots (BIG) and Dollar Tree (DLTR), the bottom of the barrel in retailing.
