Because of a material loss of trust and confidence in "the system" by everyday voters, you can bet that the desire to be re-elected 34 days from now is what's dominating the mindset of most Congress members. Most would sell their fiscal souls to avoid being voted out of office, so don't expect another bill until at least Friday.
