Having Senators like Frank, Dodd, Schumer, Waters, etc. making decisions on this country's economy (see the 2004 hearings on regulating Fannie Mae which these senators bitterly opposed) gives me more concern than anything I heard on the debate last night. Our Democratic senators sold this country out for the sake of their campaign contributions.

Don't look for the Vice President Elect to do anything, BUT look at who Obama has running is finances now. Three men that have been in trouble with fiscal mis-deed and forced out of Freddie/Fannie groups with multi- million $ golden deals. TROUBLE AHEAD IF OBAMA KEEPS THESE FELLOW ON-BOARD AFTER (IF) HE IS ELECTED.

We just posted this in our blog which is also a good answer to this question:

Just this past Friday we went out with family and friends to dinner at a popular family style restaurant in an affluent section of town. Within moments of being seated at a large table in the corner of the restaurant, the conversation was on the Vice Presidential debate.

After some much heated and excited debate of our own, we decided to ask other female restauranteurs what they thought of the debate. We didn't ask people who they were voting for. After the men had all injected the various comments that we more or less expected, the women had finally shut them up in order to answer our question. One woman said this quite loudly and it was greeted with nodding heads and vocal confirmations:
"Quite frankly, after watching it on TV, I was embarrased that Sarah Palin was saying those things and that she didn't answer many of the questions directly or at all. She was embarrasing!"

Another woman pointed out that it seemed almost a repeat of the Presidential debate with John McCain doing the very same thing and being stuck on "difference between a strategy and a tactic".

Embarrased was the word of the evening. Never before had I heard a chorus of the voting public agree on politics. But they did Friday night and they felt embarrased about the representative of the Republican party Sarah Palin.

"She was embarrasing....

Yes. The 2 VP candidates make a better ticket than the presidential candidates.
Can we pick one from each party??
Until the Dems and Reps are abolished the American people will never be served.

No, the vice-president and the president don't control the budget, the congress does that. All the above people might want to bone up on the separations of powers in the government. The president can suggest a budget or veto one he doesn't like but has not real control short of shutting down the government-which could be quite useful in my opinion. And the vice-president has even less power. Focus on the incompetent democrat controlled congress and the morons like Barmey Frank and Nancy Pelosi who control it.

Totally agree with Jester112358.

On the top of that, Congress "contributed" their big bites into this financial meltdown.
Such as Obama, just only 3 yrs as a Senate, he had received more than 100K Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac.

Next, Nancy Pelosi received more than 30K from these companies.
