How does Craigslist make money?
I can't seem to figure out how Craigslist makes money. Advertising is free and I don't see any ads on it. Anyone know?

Through job ads and real estate listing fees.

Although they are a for-profit company, they seem content with making a small profit, rather than trying to maximize it like ebay did after they went public. They charge for job ads in about 9 cities and apartment listing in NYC. With Ebay owning about 28% of Craigslist since 2004, it is understandable that the relationship is not the best as Ebay has sued Craiglist and now craiglist has sued Ebay. This is understandable especially since Ebay started Kijiji, which works similar to Craiglist, except they charge for most services.

They are making money using latest internet technology and adds.. They entered the market through spamming. I had received 1 such spam with an offer of earning $1000 a week by joining them but I ignored them as spam and now I repent for it. My freinds earning handsome amount by joining them..
Never ignore or underestimate any company. All blue chips were ones Baby boomers
