Pancreatic Cancer is a very serious illness and usually kills. Since Steve has not terminated yet, it is probable that he is trying unconventional treatment options.

There is a plausible explanation for "spontaneous remissions". It is that everyone gets some cancerous cells but doesn't get a cancerous mass due to the bodies immune system quickly killing the mutated cells. When you do get cancer and then do everything possible to boost your immune system, it is possible to either stop, slow down, or eliminate the cancer.

Conventional cancer treatment while trying to kill the cancer with radiation and/or chemotherapy really hurts the immune system and if you don't kill all the cancer cells, it comes back stronger than ever.

I hope that Steve does survive and then tell us what his treatment was.
