Will Obama do anything to improve Medicaid ?
I think Obama should do something with Medicaid so if you go to a nursing home it won't cost you your life savings. I understand that Medicaid will pay if you have next to no assets but why can't he come up with a plan so Medicaid pays say half of the cost and the consumer pay the other half so they can have some assets left to live on.

The problem with trying to do that with a program the size of Medicaid is the cost of making minor changes. When you multiply a $1000 a year change per person, the cost to the program is enormous, with millions of people on Medicaid. The original intent of Medicaid was to keep people from being put out in the street, not to cover retirement. But with any government program, once started, the only way to go is for more.
I don't think Obama will be able to do much with Medicaid, until he finds a way to control health costs and their increases.
