What do you guys think of Disney as a short candidate?
Travel hasn't hit a bottom yet and I'm predicting the first half of '09 will show declines in many of their business units: movies, merchandising, theme parks, etc. Thoughts?

I'm not so sure I agree. Much could depend on whether or not gasoline prices stay down. People will be more likely to travel by cars with gas prices below two bucks than when gas was four dollars. The DIS chart looks pretty decent. Resistance on the upside probably comes at $26, and then at the 200 day M.A. around 28.50-28.80. If you are going to short, I think it's best done from there than from the current level of 23.50. But it also looks to me like the 50 day moving average, right now at 22.32, is providing some support to DIS. Below that support is at 19. Remember that Wall Street always looks ahead, and much of what you are referring to may have already been priced into the stock, which has declined from 35 to 23 in the past three months.
