Will C and BAC be nationalized over the weekend?
Been looking at C and BAC and they've been pummeled the past couple days. Today isn't looking pretty either. I've been interested in C because of the price, and given that Feb09 contracts are expiring today, I thought the stock was unusually oversold due to unloading. Now i'm thinking otherwise given that it's down double digits from yesterday. Rumors of nationalization are obviously there. I don't think C will get nationalized given foreign interest investors. Thoughts?

You either need inside information, incredible luck or a strong gambling instinct to even think about investing in these two! Nationalization is not out of the question but the failure of additional major banks is in my view highly probable!

I don't think that Obama wants them nationalized. I can't understand why some in Congress (Dodd) keep bringing it up unless they want that and keeping it in everyones mind drives it there. Otherwise, it is being either very stupid (he can't claim not to know how the market will respond to his comments), or he just doesn't care, or he wants the government to take them over for some purpose of his.
