You might want to take a look at First Solar. They have ramped up capacity and have announced a product that comes in under a $1.00 a watt. The downside of them is that their product is not as efficient (size wise) as the competition, so they lose out where space is an issue.
You may want to look at ETFs, as there are several that would allow you to get coverage regardless of which company does well.

Evolution Solar Corp EVSO is a startup out of Tempe, AZ where FSLR originated.
EVSO is selected to build a Florida solar plant and is involved in China/Asian projects

I have several likes in solar but one company that has massive potential is ESLR which is Evergreen Solar. They just opened a new facility in the U.S. and also are near completion of the largest solar installation to-date in Germany. Speaking of Germany, they have renewed additional solar initiatives and desires. Currently leading the world in solar, any company that has business ties (projects completed and projects in the pipe) to Germany has a jump-start already.
I have yet to delve deeply into wind but one obvious one is GE who of course do far more than just wind. Many of T.Boone Pickens projects are using GEs turbines. Vestra is another popular one I've read about.

One other thing about ESLR here is that they have the most energy efficient panels on the market today as was verified in a recent study.
