Wow! thats a wide open question...
What is responsible: a good value, potential based on fundamentals, positive news, excitement, lots of people suddenly buying..possibly due to the news or the technical indicators.

I just traded solar for pharma today and easily got a 26% profit. My friend traded solar for pharma and since last Weds. his profit potential stands at 681% and had he sold earlier today it would have been 921%. He's holding still. After people take their profits and the price drops, I'll enter into it.

Being in the right sector at the right time..yada yada. To capture that percentage you'd need to be in it for one then set a trailing % stop to capture and ride up the profit then capture the percentage upon activation of the trailing stop.

It could go up more or drop when people take profits. It all depends on the volatility surrounding the company, its product, and people's perception of its worth.

I'm assuming that due to your specific stated percentage in growth, there is some commodity in particular that you are asking about. If this is correct, it might help if we know what commodity it is that you are asking about. without that info we can only provide very general answers that may not be very meaningful, so please elaborate.
