In reference to the last question on GM - if you had to buy ANY automaker now, which would it be?

Right now, I wouldn't buy any automakers, but the question has a "gun to your head" quality ... "if you HAD to ..." In that case, I'd buy Toyota. Why? For the inverse reason that I wouldn't buy GM - they make cars that people want to buy. When this economy turns around (and it will) and people go out to buy cars again, they won't be buying GM's. They'll be buying Toyotas - just like they did in the past.

On the other hand, there's a private company in California that's producing a 3-wheeled electric car that gets 100 miles per charge, takes 6 hours to recharge from a 120V source, and has a body that can't be damaged. They already have orders pending for September, 2009. Now there's a company I'd like to invest in. Unfortunately, as I said, it isn't publicly traded.
