Why do you think so many Biotech/Pharma deals are getting done right now?

I've seen 4 or so in the last 2 days -- what's the motivation?

The big pharmaceutical companies have loads of cash and mostly poor pipelines of new drugs so it makes sense for them to buy biotech companies with promising new therapies. Given the time it takes to get a new drug on the market it is cheper to buy innovative new companies than launch their own research studies.
