I live in Canada and have some $US cash. If the value of $US dollar is expected to go down
should I exchange it for canadian dollars? If yes, now or later?

I think US Dollar rally has much more to run. Still US Dollar is a reserve currency.
However it could become weaker in 2012.
For the last three years some top investors and currency traders said:
Get out of US Dollar.
Some said:
Invest in Australia Dollar, Franc, Euro and pound etc
We know what happened to those currencies.
Canadian Dollar is a long term play. I can not see any direction of the Canadian dollar until 2011. It will be flat or will go down further.
Some currencies will go down dramatically in the next 12 months. Some Asian currencies such as Indian rupee, Korean won will appreciate in the second half of this year. Even Japanese yen will be strong in 2009
I think many currency traders including carry traders will make heavy losses in currency investment due to incorrect betting against currencies as happened to them in the last 18 months,
