It's possible that an investment advisory author thought that it represented a great value for a security that has some "moat" (being a large telecom in a small area with wide appeal) plus what appeared to be a significant dividend. These securities were a type classified as long-term buy and hold and reinvest dividends to compound the income...but keep in mind that Magyar Telecom has fallen quite a bit since last year, and its dividend is dependent on fees for services in a central European economy that is struggling for capital...and getting IMF hand outs. If you want to buy MTA at this point, for buy and hold, have a 20 yr horizon.
