Can a company trade its stock 5 different markets?

Dynavax tech, Inc is a Biotech based in Berkeley, CA and trades on NASDAQ under DVAX. I noticed recently that it is trading its stock in Berlin, Frankfurt & Stutgart. Dynavax owns Rhein Biotech GmbH (Dynavax Europe), headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Put simply, yes. Although i'm not sure exactly the process it is done through - they may just have to apply to be on different exchanges and pay the associated costs - there are many companies traded on multiple exchanges. Just think of ADRs, which are ALL traded primarily in other countries, and you'll find some good examples.
