The answer is ... September 13, 2004 (2 for 1) and June 13, 1994 (2 for 1) How do I know?
Go to Yahoo Finance. In the "search box", type Chevron to get the stock symbol (CVX) and click on it. When the screen comes up, click on the chart which will open a new page with a single expanded chart for CVX.
Near the bottom of the chart, you'll see time frames (1D 5D 1M, etc.) Click on "MAX".
Now, just above the chart you'll see a box called "Events". If you click it, one of the choices is "Splits". Click on it and the chart will reveal all the splits with the letter "S". Put your cursor over the "S" and it will give you the date of the split and the split ratio.
By the way, if you want to know the dividend payments, you can do the same thing. Under "Events" the other option is "Dividends". If you click on that, every dividend payment will appear with the letter "D". Cursor over the "D" and you'll find the dividend date and the amount of the payment per share.
