I am a beginner--any suggestions for making my first trade?
I would like to begin purchasing stock, but I'm a beginner. Can you give me some direction? ie, how many shares should I buy or should I buy a small amount of shares in diverse stocks? Finally, is there an online site where I can trade?

Alot would depend on the amount of your account. If you are brand new to trading you may be better off trading a paper account for a while to see exactly how your trades do as per your expectations. There are several on line brokers that you can start an account with for $2000 or even less in some cases. Remember to try to diversify your trading so that all your investments are not in one stock, Industry or
Sector
Good luck

You need to find a broker first if you already do not have one, Scottrade,Etrade,Ameritrade, look around before u pick one. Then do paper trades as in act like u would buy something and see how u do without spending real money, and you should aslo do that for a couple weeks since you are a beginner, just to watch to see how the market works before u dive in with real money, It probably would be best to buy small amounts of shares even when u are ready like 100shares depending on the stock price, because u will be using your own money this time and there is no need to get crazy, the market is always gonna be here no hurry! best advice read some books on the stock market to see how it really works>>> good luck on your investing ....
