220MHz is a photon wavelength of 136cm (Speed of Light / Frequency) or 53.7"
Physical size of a half-wave quanta is 26.84" so an split FM antennae would have
2 "ears" 27" in length to resonate or capture such a quanta of electromagnetic energy
That said, in this day and age of microminiaturization, I think its an obsolete spectra
but what do I know, I'm just a 70yr old retired opto-mechanical engineer who also
knows the photon quanta of a microwave oven is 2.41" in dia. and go out on your
front lawn and measure the seed stalk of a bermuda grass plant. Can you guess
why its ALSO 2.41" in length? Did God design it as a sunbrella or did all the other
lengths just die off? Its how God designs the universe, same way you and I do, we
try something and do what works, duh!
